Engage! Cleveland to host half-day women’s forum featuring notable female speakers

CLEVELAND, OH — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — January 25, 2022 — Engage! Cleveland’s fifth annual Next Generation of Women event presented by The Sherwin-Williams Company will feature ten of Greater Cleveland’s most noteworthy female leaders on March 3, 2022, at Stillwater Place at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The program will also be available via live stream. Micki Byrnes, President & General Manager of WKYC, and Dr. Marla Pérez-Davis, Center Director of NASA are amongst the lineup of speakers sharing their most impactful professional and personal advice at this half-day women’s conference.

Cleveland is thrilled to be featuring such a powerful group of speakers to give the young women in our community a unique professional and personal development opportunity,” said Ashley Basile Oeken, President of Engage! Cleveland. “Now in its fifth year,  this event continues to grow, and we are thrilled to once again provide a high-quality program with exceptional speakers.”

Next Generation of Women will run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. holding five, 50-minute presentations with the following leaders covering specially crafted topics:

  • Annette Blackwell, Mayor, City of Maple Heights

  • Micki Byrnes, President & General Manager, WKYC

  • Mattie Harris, President, and Chief Operating Officer, Industrial Transport Inc.

  • Carolyn Lekan, Vice President of Corporate Human Resources, The Sherwin-Williams Company

  • Janet Miller, President, Aisling Reise, LLC

  • Jan Murphy, President, and CEO, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center

  • Dr. Marla Pérez-Davis, Center Director, NASA

  • Claire A. Scott Miller, M. Ed., BCC, President, C Scott Miller & Associates

  • Marcy Shankman, Chief Organizational Learning Officer, Cleveland Metropolitan School District

  • June Ryan, RADM, United States Coast Guard (Ret.)
