WKYC-TV, the TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate in Cleveland is seeking an Investigative producer. This role is ideal for a passionate storyteller committed to creating original, impactful content that resonates with our audience. We are seeking a curious individual ready to dig into enterprise stories for both day turns and long form stories.

Responsibilities:
•    Story Ideation and Pitching: Identify and pitch compelling investigative story ideas, demonstrating a strong sense of news judgment and audience engagement.
•    Research and Verification: Conduct in-depth research, including using public records, interviewing sources, and utilizing various digital tools.
•    Script Writing and Production: Write clear, compelling scripts for various platforms and produce engaging stories that utilize compelling video, graphics, and sound.
•    Platform Adaptation: Adapt content for various platforms, including traditional television broadcasts, streaming services, and social media.
•    Collaboration: Collaborate with newsroom leadership to ensure editorial consistency and technical quality.
•    Digital Media: Utilize social media and digital tools for research, content discovery, and distribution.

Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent years of experience.
•    5-7 years of news content experience.
•    Top-notch communication skills are an absolute must.
•    Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy that emphasizes accurate, fair and unique local content, along with community engagement.?
•    Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism.
•    Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
•    Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on your preferred social platforms.?
•    Organizational skills and the ability to work under time pressure deadlines.
•    Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.?
•    ENPS and Edius system experience preferred.
