Academic Advisor – Cleveland Institute of Art

Academic Advisor

The Cleveland Institute of Art invites applicants for the role of our Academic Advisor. This position works with students in collaboration with varied academic units/staff to implement a personalized success plan for Cleveland Institute of Art students. The Academic Advisor will identify available resources and take necessary corrective actions essential for academic success. In order to achieve this, they will need an in-depth knowledge of the curriculum, campus, especially resources and academic policies and procedures, provide accurate information, and make appropriate referrals.

A successful candidate should be able to act as primary point of contact for curriculum related questions. This means engaging students through advising processes regarding educational and career planning. Understand and communicate institutional policies, procedures, and requirements. Provide timely information to students that adheres to current published academic policies and procedures.

A Bachelor’s degree is required. In addition, we ask that candidate has professional experience in an academic environment and teaching and/or advising experience in a higher education setting.

Compensation

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. CIA offers a benefit package including; vacation, sick, and personal time accrual, as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break. CIA offers health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, free campus parking, and inter-museum council discounts.

Pay Range: $19 – $23 per hour
