Assistant Registrar
The Cleveland Institute of Art invites applicants for the role of our Assistant Registrar. Under the direction of the Registrar, provides administrative and organizational support in the area of registration and records. Responsible for assisting in all registrar functions and performing the duties of the Registrar in her absence. The Assistant Registrar manages various tasks within the student records and academic scheduling functions of the office, including, but not limited to: student records management, registration processes, course schedule building, Registrar emails, evaluating and awarding of liberal arts transfer credit, and daily operations of the Registrar’s Office.
The Assistant Registrar oversees the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office, including processing transcript requests, enrollment and degree verifications, name and address changes, and managing student-to-parent FERPA permissions. Additionally, this role maintains the Registrar website and student portal pages, manages the Registrar email account, and handles Registrar-related forms and processing. The Assistant Registrar is responsible for maintaining and managing student academic files, evaluating and awarding liberal arts transfer credit for current students, and managing processes related to visiting students, including admitting, registering, and providing grade information for transient students. This role also manages cross-registration and oversees the midterm and final grading periods, including managing the incomplete grade procedure and grade changes.
A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with knowledge of higher education procedures, policies, and best practices. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience in a Registrar’s Office, a strong understanding of student record keeping and organization, and knowledge of the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA). Experience with face-to-face student interaction in a higher education administrative capacity is also essential. Preferred candidates will have experience with student information systems such as Jenzabar, PeopleSoft, or Banner, as well as with systems like Adobe Forms, AdAstra, or Parchment.

Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. CIA offers a benefit package including; paid time off accrual, as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break.
