    Position Summary

    Reporting to Lumitex’s Strategic Product Line Manager for our Surgical Business, the Business Development Representative will drive growth through generating and nurturing leads through our sales process and close new business opportunities.  This role will execute on sales goals, marketing initiatives, and product development efforts of the Surgical Product line by establishing and maintaining new and current Customer relationships, conducting market research, and developing business strategies and pitches that align with corporate strategy. Work closely with Product Manager, marketing, and customer support to drive sales strategy and meet annual revenue targets.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Generate, nurture and close new leads aligned with revenue and margin targets of the role with Surgical OEM customers and CDMO’s (Contract Design and Manufacturing Organizations) for our Surgical In-Cavity Lighting Business
    • Own and manage leads in CRM System (HubSpot) from prospecting through qualification by various forms of communication including, but not limited to; calls, emails, presentations, field and product demonstrations and industry events.
    • Engage with prospects to understand their PDRs (product development requirements). Assess possibilities to integrate light into applications.
    • Create and propose Product Development Agreements (PDAs) to prospects.
    • Maintain Assigned Key Accounts while fostering new corporate relationships. Maintain and create opportunities for lighting new applications with pre-existing Customers.
    • Create and distribute quotes of product pricing updates to current customers.
    • Understand product line industry by conducting market research, seeking current client feedback, and completing competitor analysis.
    • Execute product line strategy to promote success and growth of business unit.
    • Monitor and analyze sales data to support current or propose new sales strategies to achieve product line revenue goals on a quarterly and annual basis.
    • Be a corporate face of the Surgical Product line and Lumitex lighting technologies. Promote a variety of lighting technologies and solutions while in attendance to trade shows and conferences, Customer visits or prospecting ventures.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    What We’re Looking For

    • Proven track record of successful sales/business development in a Medical Device Service business.
    • Strong business acumen, preferably including the ability to promote various lighting systems into new customer applications.
    • Ability to identify and nurture leads. Experience working in an environment with various lead times.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers at all levels of their organization regarding new application development.
    • Creative problem solving and objection handling skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to collaborate and manage complex projects involving resources inside and outside the organization.
    • Time management, presentation, and project management skills.

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering (biomedical or mechanical). Technical background preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience, with minimum of 3 years in Medical Device sales. B2B experience preferred.
    • Medical or experience in a regulated market – strongly preferred.
    • Travel required is 20% minimum and as much as 35% on an annual basis to attend a variety of industry events and prospect or customer visits.
    • A valid driver’s license and passport for occasional travel outside the US. Ability to travel by train, car, plane.
