Chief Financial Officer/Chief Compliance Officer – Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio is seeking a Chief Financial Officer/Chief Compliance Officer to join our team!

In this role, you will provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for finance, real estate investments, and corporate compliance. You will work in concert with other Executive Leadership Team members to develop and guide strategic direction, develop tactical plans, and assist in the agency’s leadership.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will participate in Board of Directors meetings and various Board Committees. You will be responsible for developing, mentoring, and coaching direct reports in finance, customer service, strategy, management, and compliance. You will be responsible for operating effectively across functional boundaries, and building and sustaining external and internal relationships. You will be an internal consultant to the President and Chief Executive Officer.

Basic Requirements:

  • College degree in a professional or management field is required. MBA or CPA is desirable. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have valid automotive insurance. Must maintain a driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s liability insurance provider.

Specific Experience/Skills/Abilities:

  • At least ten years of progressive experience in the financial management of an organization with at least five at the senior management level.
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
  • Ability to effectively manage activities in geographically dispersed locations.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain financial terms in simple language.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit financial management.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods.
  • Use advanced mathematics and statistics to work with complex financial and statistical information.
  • Define and analyze problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Use knowledge, experience, and personal judgment to make decisions and solve problems. Make decisions using standards that can be measured or checked.
  • Plan and direct the work of others.
  • Deal with people effectively. Influence people’s opinions, attitudes, and judgments positively.
