This position will serve the Akron area out of our Macedonia-based office, hybrid position.
The Community Program Coordinator is accountable for coordinating and delivering high quality programs, recruiting and mentoring volunteers, supporting and developing systems for best practices, monitoring progress, and cultivating partnerships for future or expanded Girl Scout programming in targeted communities.
The Community Program Coordinator provides leadership and supervision of girls ages 5-17 in assigned geographical areas where service team support is sparse or not available. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and providing high-quality foundational Girl Scout experience for girls with activities including outdoor opportunities, council-sponsored programs, community service and participation in product sales which will extend and maintain girl membership in Girl Scouts of North East Ohio.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, in education, early childhood development and/or a combination of work-related experience of at least 2-4 years
- Record of successful program delivery preferred
- Computer literacy and technical knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. May need to know or be able to learn other software specific to GSUSA, and financial management
- Strong human relations skills such as leadership, networking and developing and relationship building
- Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary
- Ability to meet report to assigned locations/sites on time and to meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
