Position Summary:

The Director of Product & Platforms leads the strategy, customization, governance, and optimization of the organization’s Salesforce platform and related systems. As
the primary product owner, this role is responsible for overseeing all system enhancements, feature development, and platform improvements based on evolving business needs.
The Director manages internal Salesforce Administrators, external vendors (such as North Peak), and works closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure technology solutions are scalable, user-centric, and aligned with organizational priorities. This role is also responsible for managing platform-related project budgets in partnership with line of business (LOB) leaders and is accountable for delivering projects on time and on budget. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for Salesforce and related platforms, including discovery, scoping, design, vendor management, user testing, launch, and continuous improvement.
• Prioritize and manage the customization and enhancement project pipeline, balancing short term projects with long-term platform scalability.
• Manage project budgets in collaboration with line of business (LOB) leaders, ensuring platform-related projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Oversee Salesforce Product Manager(s), Administrators and external vendors (e.g., North Peak) to ensure consistent delivery quality, system stability, and platform integrity.
• Maintain platform governance practices, including change management, access controls, security, and user support.
• Collaborate with program, operations, and executive leadership to align platform enhancements with organizational goals.
• Lead platform-related training initiatives to drive user adoption, engagement, and satisfaction.
• Monitor and report on platform performance metrics, user adoption trends, and system ROI.
• Partner closely with leadership to ensure that platform design supports enterprise reporting and ongoing data strategy needs.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a relatedfield.

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of experience managing technology platforms, including Salesforce, with increasing levels of leadership responsibility.
• Minimum 3 years of experience supervising technical staff and/or managing external vendors.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder technology projects from
planning through delivery, including managing project budgets, timelines, and scope.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering platform customizations and system
enhancements in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

Skills:

• Deep knowledge of Salesforce administration, customization, and platform best practices.
• Strong leadership, project management, and change management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading platform governance processes.
• Ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred:

• Salesforce certified administrator, other certifications a plus (platform development, system architecture, or data analytics).
• Experience working in nonprofits or other mission-driven sectors.
• Experience with Agile product development processes
