Director of Wellness & Accessibility Services – Cleveland Institute of Art

The Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) invites applications for the full-time position of Director of Wellness & Accessibility Services. Reporting to the Dean of Students to play a vital role in shaping the student experience by providing essential wellness resources, including disability accommodations, mental health support, and proactive health initiatives. As the Director, you will lead the Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation (CARE) Team, coordinating intervention strategies for students in need, while collaborating closely with various departments including Safety and Security, Academic Advising, and Student Life to foster a culture of wellness.

Your primary responsibilities will include managing accessibility and disability services by interpreting and applying the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504, ensuring equal access to programs and services for all students. You will provide accommodations for academic and housing needs, advocate for students with disabilities, and collaborate with faculty and staff to foster an inclusive and supportive environment. In this role, you will also work with contracted services from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) to address students’ wellness needs, including mental health care, personal safety, and emergency interventions.

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Social Work, or a related field, along with experience in providing academic accommodations and case management. You should possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with a deep commitment to supporting students of diverse backgrounds and managing high student mental health needs. Experience with student development theories and risk management strategies is essential, as is a passion for creating a collaborative, wellness-focused community in higher education.

Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. CIA offers a benefit package including; vacation, sick, and personal time accrual, as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break. CIA offers health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, free campus parking, and inter-museum council discounts.
