Director, Student Opportunity, and Success Program – Cleveland State University

The Student Opportunity and Success Program (“Opportunity and Success Program’’) strengthens the student body at CSU Law by enhancing the academic and career trajectories of eligible students. It develops the skills necessary for success in law school, and provides scholarships, financial assistance, academic support, mentoring, leadership training, and career counseling. The Opportunity Fellows Program (“Fellows Program”), a component part of the Opportunity and Success Program, is a pre-law opportunity pipeline program for eligible junior and senior undergraduates and college graduates who do not go directly from college to law school.

Collaborates with others to develop and implement the Opportunity and Success Program. Oversees and implements all aspects of the Fellows Program. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Associate (ABA) accredited law school.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under CSU’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior student pipeline program experience.
  • Experience in law school administration, marketing, leadership, program development and execution, driving organizational outcomes, supporting student success or related experiences.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery.
  • Detailed oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze, and organize information.
  • Have effective project and time management skills.
  • Effective writing and verbal skills.
  • Proficient in relevant technology, including customer relationship management tools.
  • Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being self-directed and forward-thinking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
