Graduate Assistant, Sports Information
Reports To: Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Information
Status: Part‑time, Exempt
Responsibilities
- Serves as a primary media contact for designated athletic teams.
- Maintains Storm website.
- Creates game‑day publications and writes event recaps.
- Serves as game‑day statistician and maintains statistical databases.
- Assists in all phases of sports information.
- Assists in organizing the setup and coverage of all home athletic events.
- Assists in supervising game‑day student workers and all game‑day staff.
- Assists with special promotional events.
- Assists with coordination of all communication functions of the College’s intercollegiate sports programs.
- Projects and promotes an inclusive education with the highest standards, where student‑athletes are empowered to leave lives of personal significance and professional success as global citizens.
- Acts as an ambassador of the college and conducts oneself in a positive manner to heighten the awareness of the institution to all of its constituents.
- Operates within the mission of the college and athletics department to ensure a full NCAA DII student‑athlete experience.
- Follows all terms and conditions per the Policy for Graduate Assistants.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications and Key Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports management, or related field preferred.
- Acceptance into a Lake Erie College graduate program required.
- Knowledge and skill in integrated software systems and Microsoft applications.
- Stat crew experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
- Ability to edit and create highlight videos preferred.
- Knowledge of AP style preferred.
- Experience managing social media campaigns preferred.
- Experience in public announcing preferred.
- Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, rules and regulations of athletic associations and conferences.
- Collegiate playing experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and approval for driving through the Business Office.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.

Special Requirements
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Ability to travel for practices, competitions, and recruiting.
- Required to follow all institutional, Conference, and NCAA regulations, and self‑report violations.
