Graduate Assistant, Stunt
REPORTS TO: Head Coach, Stunt
STATUS: Part-time, Exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as recruiter for the sport of stunt, identifying and evaluating potential students with that interest and organizing their recruitment in conjunction with the Office of Admissions.
- Assists with organization of all aspects of the program, including coaching and management of facility, practice and team operations.
- Provides aid to the Head Coach in accomplishing all of the Stunt team’s goals such as academic and athletic success as well as positive relationship building within the team, Lake Erie College, and surrounding community.
- Helps execute team fundraising efforts, including participation in camps and clinics.
- Handles uniform and equipment maintenance and inventory.
- Assists with student-athlete study table coverage and coordination.
- Projects and promotes an inclusive education with the highest standards, where student-athletes are empowered to live lives of personal significance and professional success as global citizens.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends and to travel for team practices, competition and scouting.
- Assists with transportation of team in vans or bus, upon approval.
- Acts as an ambassador of the college and conducts oneself in a positive manner to heighten the awareness of the institution to all of its constituents.
- Operates within the mission of the college and athletics department to ensure a full NCAA DII student‑athlete experience.
- Follows all terms and conditions per the Policy for Graduate Assistants.
- Other duties as assigned by Head Coach, Stunt or Director of Athletics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports management or related field preferred.
- Acceptance into a Lake Erie College graduate program required.
- Collegiate stunt experience preferred.
- Knowledge and skill in using integrated software systems and Microsoft applications.
- Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, rules and regulations of athletic associations and conferences.
- Collegiate playing experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and approval for driving through the Business Office.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Committed to confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.
- Strong organization skills with ability to attend to details.
- Ability to work independently on assigned projects and initiatives.
- Growth and “doer” mindset and institutional teamwork ethic.
- Creative, strategic, thoughtful, and has a sense of humor.
