IT Support Technician – NOPEC

Supports the overall IT environment at NOPEC. Installs, modifies, and manages hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, such as monitors, keyboards, and printers, as directed by the IT Manager. Serves as the help desk to other team members, board members, and external consultants and provides a timely response to inquiries and resolving problems.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, one or more of the following:

  • Maintains help desk operations to assist internal team members and external stakeholders with IT-related questions and problems
  • Performs hardware, software, and peripheral equipment improvements and upgrades to ensure all systems are up to date
  • Assists with the maintenance of all NOPEC data and file systems
  • Monitors system performance to ensure that operations are within established standards and develops recommendations for enhancements to improve operations and increase system capabilities.
  • Performs IT onboarding of new employees, including collecting requirements, setup, and deployment
  • Inventory Management: The candidate will be responsible for maintaining our IT asset inventory. This includes keeping the asset management system updated with adds, moves, changes as well as maintaining on-hand inventory
  • Performs basic training and creates training materials on software applications.
  • Data Entry: The candidate will be tasked with the regular updating of our databases. This includes the daily input of new data, ensuring all information is current and accurately reflected in our systems. The role demands a high level of precision and the ability to manage data efficiently
  • Maintains a strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and recognizes potential threats to safeguard the organization’s technology and information

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • A minimum of 2+ years of work experience in the areas of business application software and personal computers.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in all office-based functions: Microsoft Office Programs and knowledge of creating pivot tables, Customer Relationship Management software, database management, and presentation software.
  • Database skills: Candidate should have some initial exposure to understand Microsoft SQL topics and be able to cover for department when others are out of the office
  • SharePoint Online Development
  • Advanced Excel skills (an added plus)
  • Microsoft BI (an added plus)
  • Detail oriented and well organized is a must for success in this role

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance at a level established by NOPEC.
  • Sitting, standing, and bending.
  • Ability to use office equipment including but not limited to office copier, shredder, computer equipment, and audio/visual equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, confident, and compelling manner.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
