*This is a summer internship position with the possibility of extending the internship through the fall semester.
Description: NOPEC seeks an enthusiastic, hard-working marketing intern to assist in our marketing and communications efforts. This internship will have a strong emphasis on content creation, copywriting, graphic design, community outreach and education.
Compensation: NOPEC is committed to providing a competitive wage. Range will be determined with experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with copywriting, graphic design, and content development for our website, newsletters, blog posts, social media, and other marketing materials.
- Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies and content aimed at increasing awareness about NOPEC and driving traffic to NOPEC’s website.
- Assist with maintaining and updating website content.
- Help manage promotional marketing products and collateral.
- Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks.
- Help at scheduled community events including setting up promotional displays, tents, and signage at events
- Work at community events, actively engaging with the public to increase brand awareness of NOPEC.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn
- Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Marketing/Communications, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or Public Relations).
- Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus
- Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience in Umbraco, Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva is a plus.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with the public in a professional manner.
- Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Experience with Act-On or other push email marketing tools a plus.
Position Details:
- Position will be filled by March 15, 2025
- Start Date – TBD
- Approximately 30 – 35 hours per week during Summer with the possibility of continuing through the fall semester at 15 – 20 hours per week.
- Due to the nature of this position, the intern’s schedule will be set at the beginning of each month with the Community Outreach Team. It will include some time in the office and specific evening/weekend events.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation to office and offsite events
