Bessemer Management is a transportation organization comprised of a family of 5 logistics/trucking companies with 85+ years of experience operating in multi-faceted transportation modes. We are a dynamic and growing organization, building and utilizing best-in-industry technology.
We are looking to add a full-time, hybrid OpenEdge Developer to our existing IT Team in our Cleveland, Ohio office. In this newly-created role, you will primarily be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the dispatching software we use for our two intermodal/container drayage companies (Horizon Freight System and TRX, Inc.). Alongside you will be an IT Team comprised of 6 other developers, 7 help desk support technicians, 2 systems architects, and our IT Director.

Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain applications using Progress OpenEdge ABL (Advanced Business Language)
· Develop and maintain REST API utilizing PASOE (Pacific App Server for OpenEdge)
· Design, code, test, and debug complex software solutions
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements
· Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues
· Optimize application performance and ensure scalability
· Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
· Create and maintain technical documentation
Qualifications
· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree and/or certifications in software development, computer science, or a related field preferred
· 5+ years of experience in Progress OpenEdge development
· Strong understanding of OpenEdge ABL and database management
· Proficiency in front-end development with React is a plus

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; and reach with hands and arms to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
