Partner Distribution Hub Volunteer Receptionist (UNPAID) – Greater Cleveland Food Bank

HOURS: Part-Time; Monday – Friday between 1PM to 5PM

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a friendly and organized Volunteer Receptionist (Unpaid) to join our team. This role works to ensure a positive experience and superior customer service is offered at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank Partner Distribution Hub. Ensures attention to detail, while maintaining a positive atmosphere, support to the Volunteer Experience Department, and visitor engagement. Daily responsibilities will include general administrative and clerical duties.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Volunteer Experience Department with volunteer check in.
  • Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate staff members.
  • Receives, files and distributes incoming mail and deliveries.
  • Manage the reception area, ensuring it is tidy and presentable.
  • Assist with directing visitors the appropriate personnel for appointments.
  • Provide general administrative support.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide information about the organization and its services.
  • Assist with special projects and events as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to multitask and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role is a plus but not required.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENT:

The physical requirements for this position include: Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position. Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. frequently. Ability to operate a computer or other office productivity machinery frequently. Occasional ability to ascend/descend stairs to access work spaces. Occasional ability to position or move body to access filing cabinets or other work equipment. Ability to constantly exchange accurate information and communicate in person or via telephone with clients, partners, donors, coworkers and other members of the community. Must be able to frequently view a computer screen. Ability to move office equipment/supplies on seldom occasions. Ability to lift 10-25 lbs. on a regular basis While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
