Position Overview:
The Production Assistant is responsible for assisting in creating and editing creative content, including audio and video production, videography, photography, and design.
Key podcast production duties include recording and editing audio and video, incorporating b-roll footage, and ensuring high-quality sound to craft engaging and impactful episodes. The role supports the creation of video and photo content across various Cleveland Metroparks locations, including reservations, golf courses, and the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The Production Assistant assists in multimedia design for both digital and print platforms, helping to elevate the Park District’s marketing initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend creativity and technical expertise to connect audiences with nature and the mission of Cleveland Metroparks.
Key Responsibilities:
· Podcast Production – Records, edits, and enhances video and audio for Cleveland Metroparks podcast episodes, including b-roll integration and other post-production enhancements to deliver a polished final product.
· Video & Photo Production – Assists with shooting and editing video and photo content for multiple platforms including social medial and marketing materials. Visits Cleveland Metroparks reservations, golf courses, Zoo, and special events to help with gathering engaging footage, images, and interviews.
· Multimedia Design – Assists in conceptualizing, designing, and finalizing creative materials for digital and print mediums using Adobe Create Suite. Assists with creating high-resolution files, troubleshooting production issues, adjusting colors, and preparing artwork for templates and vector-based outputs.
· Photo Retouching & Management – Searches for and retouches images for use in both print and online materials, ensuring professional quality. Purchases and edits images from online vendors and retouches in-house photographs to enhance park photo library.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
2. Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
3. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
4. Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in audio and video production or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three years of work experience in related field required.
Software Proficiencies: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, Audition, and After Effects
Other Qualifications:
· Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license with fewer than six active points on the driving record.
· Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
· Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
· Ability to work cooperatively with others.
· Mature professional attitude and considerable discretion, including ability to manage confidential information.
· Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.
Salary: $44,476 – $55,595 (Internal equity considerations and the average salary of the peer range will be reviewed/considered before making a final offer)
Work Days: Must be available to work a varying schedule.
