Relationship Manager – Engage! Cleveland

Job Type: Full-time 

Office Environment/Address: Hybrid – 50% of time in office (3135 Euclid Ave., Suite 103, Cleveland, OH 44115) and 50% of time from home (subject to change). In addition to the office environment, will participate in off site programs and meetings. 

 

Job Summary: The Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing external relationships within the organization. The person in this role  will ensure a good value proposition, nurture relationships with employer members, sponsors, the Leadership Council, etc. by managing multiple touchpoint meetings throughout the year to ensure retention. As a small organization, the position requires you to wear many hats and shift directions often throughout the day.

Primary Responsibilities:

Employer Membership

  • Coordinate and lead employer membership meetings, maintaining regular contact with members to ensure engagement and retention.
  • Host multiple touchpoint meetings throughout the year to keep members connected and engaged.
  • Develop an annual year-in-review document for each employer member including a summary of benefits utilized, event attendance, job postings, reach, and other relevant engagement metrics.

Employer Member Renewal Responsibility

  • Manage the renewal process for employer members, ensuring that all benefits are clearly communicated and renewal rates are met.
  • Develop and implement strategies for increasing membership retention and engagement.
  • Conduct check-in meetings to nurture member relationships.

CRM Management

  • Take ownership of the CRM system, ensuring all prospecting and outreach activities are accurately tracked.
  • Use CRM tools to track all outreach to sponsors, members, and partners, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Regularly update CRM records to reflect engagement activities, meetings, and interactions.

Employer Relations Committee Oversight

  • Develop strategies to foster and strengthen long-term relationships with sponsors, members, and partners.
  • Create agendas and materials for the Employer Relations Committee meetings, preparing presentations and follow-up notes.
  • Manage and oversee the committee’s work in line with organizational goals.
  • Serve as a backup to the Development committee and as needed. 

Leadership Council Oversight

  • Create agendas and materials for Leadership Council meetings.
  • Onboard new Leadership Council members.
  • Work closely with council members to achieve key organizational objectives.

Cleveland Talent Alliance – Higher-Ed Committee

  • Collaborate with the Cleveland Talent Alliance’s higher-ed committee to align workforce development initiatives.
  • Build partnerships with local educational institutions to support workforce growth and development.

Event Support:

  • Provide day-of event support, including managing logistics and registration tables.
  • Deliver brief remarks at events and assist with public speaking engagements.
  • Welcome and thank sponsors during events.
  • Ensure event presentations are updated and in line with organizational standards.
  • Review post event data and track in CRM.

Other Duties

  • Serve as a backup to the President for external relations as needed, representing the organization at events and meetings when required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the President or other senior leaders, ensuring smooth operations and the achievement of organizational goals as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Exceptional team player who excels in collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to small and large groups.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Docs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours when necessary.
  • Ability to transport self and event materials to offsite events.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in relationship management, membership coordination, or a similar field.
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations or membership-driven organizations is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work onsite and offsite events/meetings that last several hours or multiple days.
