THE POSITION:
Hawken School is seeking a full-time Upper School Spanish teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate has experience with a proficiency-based, language acquisition approach.
THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Teach four sections of Spanish.
● Serve as an advisor to a small group of 8-12 students, supporting their academic and social growth.
● Contribute to the school community through non-teaching responsibilities as assigned by the Upper School Director or Head of School. For example, serve as a coach in Speech and Debate or a sport, lead an Affinity Group, teach an Intensive (three-week course), coordinate Community Service Day, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
● Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is preferred.
● At least three years of teaching experience is preferred.
