Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated In House Producer/Account Manager in Commercial Lines to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of risk management, commercial lines, and construction-related insurance needs. This role focuses on building and maintaining client relationships, promoting new business, cross-selling existing accounts, and ensuring comprehensive coverage tailored to each client’s needs. The successful candidate will be skilled in executing effective marketing strategies, finding new business opportunities, and providing prompt, high-quality service to both current and prospective clients. This position requires collaboration with clients and internal teams to deliver exceptional insurance solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the in-house producer to convert surety clients into commercial sales. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor for all their insurance needs.
• Work with clients to assess, design, and recommend insurance coverage that meets their business requirements.
• Generate new business opportunities through networking, client referrals, and targeted outreach in the construction sector.
• Prepare and present proposals, policy summaries, and coverage recommendations.
• Coordinate with underwriters and carriers to negotiate favorable terms and rates for clients.
• Provide guidance on claims, risk management, and loss control strategies specific to construction industry challenges.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, with a focus on commercial and construction-related risks.
• Duties:
• Set up new business and renewal submissions.
• Prepare applications and request underwriting information needed; forward to the client
• Order historical loss data
• Prepare Specifications and Proposals
• Review quotes; negotiate pricing/terms
• Marketing/Binding, gathering additional information as required
• Forward binders, COI’s, EPI’s. ID cards and invoices
• Review/process policies when received
• Update applications in EPIC with renewal information and subsequent changes
• Review/process endorsements when received
• Client visits, as necessary
• Issue/request/review binder extensions when applicable
• Issue midterm COI’s/EPI’s when requested
• Billings/Invoicing/Accounting Discrepancies
• Bill Risk Management fees (monthly, quarterly or annually)
• Contract review as necessary; provide recommendations
• Claims handling
• Process Audits
• Follow up on activities daily
• Follow up on cancellations
• Finance Agreements
• Prepare premium allocations
• Policy changes
• Stay informed about industry developments and emerging trends
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in insurance industry software and tools. (Preferably the Applied Systems Software Family.)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient with Adobe
• Professional designations such CPRM, CPRIA, CIC, or CPCU are a plus.
• Current Ohio P&C License
• 3+ years of experience in commercial insurance, with specific experience in the construction sector strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of account management and sales within the commercial insurance field.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction risks, coverage types, and risk management practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to think creatively and strategically, with a results-driven mindset.
