Youth Development Coordinator – Girl Scouts of North East Ohio

The Youth Development Coordinator is a full-time (40 hours per week) position that facilitates daily after-school program sessions to girls in grades K-12 and provides support to the Manager of Grants and Funded Initiatives. This position provides leadership in assigned geographical areas in the planning, scheduling, and implementation of grant-funded programs. Programs are delivered within the framework of the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio council goals and objectives in accordance with each specific grant. When grant-funded, after-school programs are not in session, the coordinator will assist with other program delivery and administrative tasks, including summer camp sessions. This position is accountable for providing quality program experiences designed to introduce and supplement troop and group activities, which will extend and maintain girl membership in Girl Scouts of North East Ohio.

Major Accountabilities:

1. Participates in planning and implementing the Girl Scout Leadership Experience programs within assigned areas and sites.

2. Delivers and implements at up to five (5) Girl Scout leadership Experience programs per week within an assigned area per semester; does not include summer program opportunities.

3. Implements targeted program development plans utilizing membership data and demographics that align with the overall council strategic plan.

4. Maintain inventory of program supplies and equipment, including order placement, delivery to program sites, and routine maintenance.

5. Records/reports data on attendance and programmatic outcomes in accordance with grant deadlines.

6. Schedules programs and staff as needed and assists with communication to program sites and preparation of program materials.

7. Assists with program curriculum development for afterschool and out of school programs.

Requirements

 ° Associate degree or some college experience preferred in: education professions, social work, organizational leadership, youth development or a combination of work-related experience of 2-4 years
° Computer literacy and technical knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite. Including applications: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word.
° Strong human relations skills such as leadership, networking, and relationship building
° Classroom management skills
° Problem-solving skills
° Disciplined self-starter
° Organizational skills
° Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
° Ability to communicate written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary
° Ability to report to assigned locations/sites on time and to meet deadlines
° Ability to work well as part of a team
° Commitment to inclusiveness
° Knowledge of the Girl Scout program preferred
