Zoo Revenue Assistant (Part-time) – Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

 

The Revenue Assistant oversees the collection and reconciliation of revenue and ensures that financial processes are in compliance with Cleveland Metroparks policies and procedures. The Assistant performs a variety of accounting and administrative functions in a confidential manner.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  1. Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
  2. Collects, reconciles, and tracks the performance of revenue generating programs.
  3. Maintains financial and statistical records, controls cash receipts, and implements office/accounting procedures to maintain and efficient workflow.
  4. Communicates and implements cash control policies.
  5. Compiles financial and statistical records and designs and generates reports which require a variety of personal computer skills.
  6. Performs internal auditing on systems and system users relating to finances.
  7. Reconciles revenue on periodic basis. Reports to Finance Department on a routine basis.
  8. Prepares bank deposits.
  9. Effectively trains, directs, and evaluates intermittent revenue staff members through planning, organizing, and prioritizing work assignments. Assists in screening, interviewing and selecting intermittent employees. Recommends discipline of intermittent employees when appropriate.
  10. Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
  11. Carries out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain a safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public. Responds to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
  12. Updates and enhances own knowledge by involvement in continuing education for professional growth (i.e., attends relevant conferences, seminars, in-service trainings, and certification programs)
  13. Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in business-related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years progressively responsible administrative experience.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Management skills and strong business acumen, including problem solving, vision, ability to manage multiple programs and meet deadlines, collaboration, leadership, decision making and ability to analyze diverse facts and develop clear and concise reports and recommendations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Proficiency in software programs including all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Mature professional attitude and considerable discretion, including ability to manage confidential information.
  • Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.
  • Candidate subject to a background, drug and credit check
  • Must be available to work a flexible work schedule to include mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Experience with cash collection and revenue reconciliation preferred.
  • Must be a non-smoker/tobacco user.

 

Wage:  $13.64 – 17.05 per hour (Internal equity considerations and the average salary of the peer range will be reviewed/considered before making a final offer)

 

Work Schedule:  Must be available to work a flexible work schedule to include mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays, work days vary.
