There’s a popular line at Clearstead, “There are no sharp elbows.” There is a palpable sense of kindness and respect for one another; of doing what is right for clients and the firm. Clearstead is an institutional and private wealth management firm. We are relentless in providing financial solutions so clients can exceed their aspirations and build legacies for their families, organizations, communities, and themselves. Our firm is majority-owned by its employees, who tackle complex investment, financial, tax, and governance needs for our institutional and private clients.

    What types of positions do you typically hire young professionals for?

    Clearstead considers talented and qualified young professionals for nearly all positions across the firm. We have recruited some great young professionals recently to serve as portfolio managers, performance analytics, research analysts, tax planning associates, and client service associates, among others.

    What qualities do you look for in a candidate?

    We typically seek candidates who have some prior experience in similar positions, strong organizational and leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects with high energy, a team player mentality, and a commitment to our company values of objectivity, steadfastness, inclusivity, and innovation.

    We encourage professional growth for employees – especially young professionals – and support efforts in obtaining professional, industry-relevant designations, encouraging community and Board service, organizing volunteer opportunities, and hosting and sharing networking events.

    How do you help your employees get involved in the community (i.e. volunteer program, service days, etc.)?

    Beyond encouraging employees to seek community and Board service opportunities, we also occasionally organize volunteer or service days through Business Volunteers United (BVU) or our internal organizations and their charitable and volunteer efforts.
