All In For Leadership: GCP’s All In Leadership Forum
More than 700 leaders from the business and community sectors actively participated in the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s All In Leadership Forum, held at Playhouse Square’s KeyBank State Theatre. The event centered around the theme of unity, fostering intimate conversations on stage to promote collaboration among regional leaders.
Throughout the forum, various speakers highlighted the significance and advantages of a collective approach by both public and private leaders towards growth and development. Emphasis was placed on the notable progress achieved through collaborative efforts.
Lt. Governor Jon Husted, standing in for Governor DeWine, who couldn’t attend due to the tragic school bus crash in Tuscarawas, acknowledged the transformation in the collaborative landscape. Husted, in an interview with GCP Board Chair Paul Dolan, discussed the statewide cooperation for mutual benefit. Notably, he pointed out that a substantial number of suppliers for the $20 billion Intel chip plant in Columbus hail from Greater Cleveland. The discussion also touched upon leveraging the region’s abundant natural resource, Lake Erie, and exploring ways to capitalize on our access to water.
Following this, GCP President and CEO Baiju Shah engaged in a dialogue with Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb. The mayor addressed historical challenges in traded sector jobs within the region and outlined his administration’s initiatives to tackle these issues, including the identification and readiness of sites and mega-sites. Both speakers underscored the emergence of a newfound “unified voice” in the region.
The speaker segment concluded with GCP General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Advocacy and Strategy, Marty McGann, moderating a conversation between Shontel Brown (D), Representative of Ohio’s Eleventh District, and Max Miller (R), Representative of Ohio’s Seventh District. Despite their differing political affiliations, Brown and Miller highlighted areas of common ground, such as supporting Ohio farmers and advocating for funding and autonomy for NASA’s Glenn Research Center.
The event wrapped up with a networking party in the festively decorated lobby, providing attendees with an opportunity to further connect and collaborate.
