Cleveland offers a diverse array of activities and events that highlight the vibrant culture and community spirit of the city. The East Side of Cleveland, in particular, is a treasure trove of experiences that deserve to be explored and celebrated. Here are some notable activities and events that showcase the unique charm of this area
1. Paine Falls Park – Enjoy waterfalls and fun walking trails
2. Kiwanis Recreation Park – This park features tennis courts, futsal, water play, basketball courts, and a pond
3. Painesville Township Park- Amazing views of Lake Erie, and a great view of the sunsets
4. Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park – Expansive beaches, and features sand volleyball
5. Painesville Farmers Market – enjoy this event every Thursday from 12-4 pm, June 6- Sept 26, 2024. This is the place to go to support local small businesses!
6. Sidewalk Cafe – Amazing homestyle breakfast and lunch.
7. Mmm… Yummy – New Mexican restaurant in Painesville, we recommend their Mexican deserts, especially the churros
8. King Kone – This is THE ice cream spot in town. The Perry location is fairly new, but before the Perry location Painesvillers would drive down to the Chardon location for their great ice cream and combinations!
9. Bartman Model Bakery– Pastries, donuts, cakes, anything cinnamon from here is always delicious
10. Glendas Pizza Depot – can’t go wrong with a pizza from Glendas, super yummy crust with their signature homemade sauce
11. Compadres – My personal favorite Mexican restaurant, so many options! The fried chicken chimichangas are always good, and they have the best queso dip in Painesville.
12. Brennan’s Fish House – the best seafood in town and amazing service
13. Painesville Speedway– Enjoy car races here to get your taste of the Talladega 500 right here in Ohio!
14. City Skate Center – Indoor rollerblading center with super fun lights, sometimes themed nights and parties
15. James A Garfield House – Enjoy this Historic site to learn a little more into Painseville’s history
Why Mentorship Matters
I decided to participate in the Engage! Cleveland mentorship program because of my love for the city and what it has to offer its young professionals and I attended a few events before joining the program. From the welcoming experiences, I was eager to unite with the next cohort.
