Girl Scout Success: How You Can Use Your Consulting Hours to Best Support Your Team!
Written by Membership & Sponsorship Engagement Manager, Megan Brown
Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Girl Scouts of North East Ohio’s main administrative campus in Macedonia. As an Employer Member of Engage! Cleveland, GSNEO has two annual consulting hours with Engage! Cleveland staff. EC consulting hours are flexible and can be shaped to the unique needs of your organization. In GSNEO’s case, they have not only a diverse range of employees but also volunteers from a wide array of backgrounds. In an effort to promote better understanding, collaboration, and cooperation, I worked with GSNEO to facilitate a workshop on navigating generational differences.
We discussed generational histories, trends, and workplace tendencies. We also identified common pressure points in intergenerational workforces and ways to alleviate tensions. Although each generation, from The Traditionalists to Generation Z, has been shaped by their own experiences and realities, and are steadfast in their values, we discussed commonalities and opportunities for mutual learning.
My presentation was interspersed with engaging games set up by GSNEO staff, such as generational slang bingo, and a price comparison game. The enthusiasm of the Girl Scouts staff was infectious, and everyone kept the fun and energy going through the morning.
This is just one way that one Employer Member chose to utilize their annual consulting hours with Engage! Cleveland. We are open to creative uses of this time, and would love to hear from you on your needs! Some examples of other uses of Employer Member consulting hours:
- Showcasing Engage! Cleveland benefits and upcoming professional development opportunities
- The what and why of professional development
- Women in the Workforce and Women’s History Month
- Building Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
- Staff satisfaction surveys
Engage! Cleveland has more than 10 years of experience in the talent attraction and retention space. Let us help you with your organization’s needs today! To learn more about Employer Membership and consulting hours, please contact me at megan@engagecleveland.org.
Why Mentorship Matters
I decided to participate in the Engage! Cleveland mentorship program because of my love for the city and what it has to offer its young professionals and I attended a few events before joining the program. From the welcoming experiences, I was eager to unite with the next cohort.
