Utilizing Your Consulting Hours: How Bendix is Working to Cultivate Multiple Generations in the Workplace
Written by: Ashley Basile Oeken, President of Engage! Cleveland.
Earlier this month, I had an opportunity to present about Multiple Generations in the Workplace to Bendix employees. As an Employer Member of Engage! Cleveland, Bendix receives two hours of complimentary consulting annually. The consulting hours are flexible and can be used to best serve the needs of your organization. In Bendix’s case, they opted to use one of their hours of the presentation for their employees to learn about the various generations in the workplace and ultimately determine how to work better together.
The Lunch and Learn was presented to a packed house of employees both in person as well as tuning in virtually to the live stream. I began the presentation by discussing the current generations in the workplace, their similarities, differences and traits as it relates to their work environment.
After running through the presentation, we had time for a Q&A section where we got to dive into some of the issues their team is experiencing. After fielding many questions, my time had come to an end.
The Bendix team shared that this might have been their best attended Lunch and Learn to date. Presentations like Multiple Generations in the Workplace is one of the many ways employer members can utilize their consulting hours. Some examples of other uses of Employer Member consulting hours:
- Showcasing Engage! Cleveland benefits and upcoming professional development opportunities
- Building Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
- Staff satisfaction surveys
Engage! Cleveland has more than 10 years of experience in the talent attraction and retention space. Let us help you with your organization’s needs today! Why Mentorship Matters
I decided to participate in the Engage! Cleveland mentorship program because of my love for the city and what it has to offer its young professionals and I attended a few events before joining the program. From the welcoming experiences, I was eager to unite with the next cohort.
